Without are dedicated and loyal team of volunteers, the arts centre would not be open

Whatever your background or situation, there are many opportunities to get involved and be part of this special community arts centre.

Duty Managers play a crucial role in the smooth running of the arts centre – Opening and locking up and being responsible for the health & safety of visitors and volunteers.

Box Office Volunteers are the first point of contact for visitors and customers, selling tickets and promoting our events and schemes among other things.

Event Stewards – help ensure all our visitors have a pleasurable and safe experience and help behind the scenes with hospitality and premises duties.

Visual Arts Team – The Gallery is the ‘shop floor’ of the arts centre and this important team help organise the arts centre gallery exhibitions, craft events and more.

Bar Team – The Bacroom Bar opens regularly on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, plus event nights and special occasions. We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to run the bar in a professional manner and keep it looking as clean and tidy as possible.

Administration Office Support – We constantly need support from volunteers who are interested in Admin/finance, marketing, and graphic design. If you have an eye for detail and good IT skills, contact us.

Fundraising – is vital to our survival and we are seeking enthusiastic and experience volunteers who can be proactive in this area.

Hospitality – We have a small team of volunteers who prepare food and refreshments for various occasions, from snacks and meals for artists, to cakes and full blown buffets for special occasions.

Premises & Maintenance Volunteers – Our Grade 1 listed Georgian premises requires constant love and attention. There are a wide variety of maintenance, cleaning and repair jobs for which we seek willing volunteers, especially those with experience in building and maintenance.

Accommodation Hosts – If you have a spare room and would be prepared to offer accommodation for some of our bands and musicians, in return for 2 free tickets to the event, please get in touch.

Gardening –  If you can offer plants and materials or would like to help maintain our special courtyard garden, please get in touch.

Theatre & Technical Volunteers –  Whether you are interested in stage managing, set building, or technical work there are various opportunities to get involved, especially with our resident amateur dramatic group, Blake Drama, who are seeking new members.
