An Illustrated talk by David Parker
6pm – 7pm
Reflections on love, landscape, childhood, poetry music and much more from one of the the great English writers of the 20th Century.
In 1994, the year of his 80th birthday, Laurie Lee shared his memories of an ‘eventful’ early life in a series of interviews with the film maker David Parker. These recordings are unique, Laurie did not ‘do’ television! In them he talked with sublime eloquence about his life in the Cotswolds, the influence of the landscapes and memories of his childhood on his subsequent writing. In this session David will introduce the recordings, and show the 30 minute film he made with Laurie. There will be time for questions and comments.
