70th celebrations

As one of the oldest Arts Centres in the UK and reaching our 70th anniversary, we have much to celebrate! The whole team here had some great creative mind mapping to decide the best ways to celebrate, and below are the results.

Our number aim is to include as many people as possible – the BAC is for all the community and our 70th programme really reflects that!

We have 5 main events for you to get involved in:

  • RE:FLECT – an interactive and participatory exhibition – 10th October till end of the year, FREE
  • A NIGHT AT THE OPERA IN 1946 – we are recreating the very first performance here which was an opera. A fully immersive experience, the Centre will be transformed back to the 1946, we will have walkabout performers, a free drink and traditional 1946 styled buffet dinner for our audience. We have professional opera singers who will be performing all the classics – this will be a very special event! – 15th October
  • SHIFTING TIMES – A walkabout storytelling performance weaving the history, both famous and infamous, of the BAC into an exciting and unique production! With a free drink at the end. 7th – 9th October
  • BIRTHDAY BONANZA: 70 REASONS TO CELEBRATE – a jammed pack FREE day of fun activities, local performers, food and drink and party games! A perfect day out for the family in half term – TOTALLY FREE, 22nd October
  • BACTALKS: BRIDGWATER HISTORY DAY – brought to you by our sponsors of the 70th anniversary celebrations, the Bridgwater Town Council are bringing together historians of the town – 12th November – FREE
