Blake Drama Club

Blake Drama Club was founded in 1945. The first production was Pygmalion and was performed at the Town Hall. This was followed later that year by Milestone and a newly released play for amateurs, Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward. In those days tickets were in great demand and long queues formed to buy tickets.

In the 1970’s the club started performing at the Arts Centre where we continue to perform to this day.

Until recently the club had its headquarters in Friarn Street but in 2013 it was decided to move to the Arts Centre. This has been very successful and is of mutual benefit to both the club and the Arts Centre.

Recent Productions include, Calendar Girls, The Odd Couple, Cranford, Blithe Spirit, Farndale Ladies A Christmas Carol and Gaslight.

We are always looking for members with acting experience and we always need help with set construction, painting etc.
We normally have a monthly club night on the second Tuesday of the month.
