ALL FOR MARY
Harold Brooke & Kay Bannerman
Coincidence has always been one of the key ingredients of Classic farce, and All for Mary is no exception to this rule. When Mary persuades her doting husband, Humpy, to go on a ski-ing holiday, he agrees, despite his own reservations. When Humpy goes down with chicken-pox, he is banished to a remote attic, well away from the other guests. He is told that he must share with another Chicken-pox victim, who just happens to be Mary’s first husband, Clive, known to Humpy as “The Rotter”. Coincidence doesn’t end there. The nurse hired to look after them turns out to be Humpy’s dear old Nannie, who proceeds to impose the benign, but strict rule of the nursery on her adult patients!
