Are you “In The Mood” for a touch of nostalgia? (pun very much intended)
The Deane Big Band, after several unsuccessful attempts and very near misses, will finally be bringing their Frank Sinatra and Glenn Miller evening to the Arts Centre and in doing so will be making their debut at the venue.
The 17 piece big band will be playing lots of classics from the swing era with Glenn Miller tunes like “String of Pearls” and ‘American Patrol’ amongst their repertoire whilst vocalist Chris Franks performs classics from the Sinatra and Miller back catalogue such as ‘New York New York’ and ‘I‘ve Got You Under My Skin’ ably backed up by the dulcet tones of female singer Hannah Deason-Barrow.
The Deane Big Band are one of the top big bands in the south west, and have played many ‘sold out’ shows around the area, including several capacity shows at the Taachi Morris.
It’s a pleasure to be able to introduce them to the Arts Centre audience for the first time – should be fun…
